Role Overview
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading Virgil HealthCare Platforms’ financial strategy, governance, compliance, and capital management, ensuring financial discipline while enabling rapid, compliant growth.
This role requires a finance leader experienced in MedTech, diagnostics, manufacturing, or regulated healthcare environments, capable of supporting fundraising, investor relations, cost control, and global expansion.
The CFO will report to the Founder-CEO, and work closely with Board, Investors, and senior leadership team to align financial execution with long-term value creation.
1. Financial Strategy & Planning
- Define and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with business and growth objectives.
- Lead annual operating plans, long-range financial models, and scenario planning.
- Support pricing, margin optimization, and unit economics for diagnostic solutions.
- Establish financial KPIs and dashboards for Board and investor reporting.
2. Accounting, Controls & Compliance
- Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.
- Ensure compliance with Indian GAAP, Ind AS, Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Implement strong internal controls, audit readiness, and financial governance.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
3. Fundraising & Investor Relations
- Lead fundraising initiatives (VC, PE, strategic investors, debt).
- Prepare investor materials including financial models, data rooms, and due diligence responses.
- Manage investor communications, reporting, and governance requirements.
- Support valuation strategy and capital structure planning.
4. Cost Management & Operational Finance
- Drive cost discipline across manufacturing, R&D, sales, and operations.
- Establish budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
- Partner with COO and CTO to ensure financial rigor in operational and technology decisions.
- Monitor working capital, inventory, receivables, and payables.
5. Regulatory, Grants & Incentives (MedTech-Specific)
- Manage financial aspects of government incentives, subsidies, grants, and export benefits.
- Ensure financial compliance related to regulated products and quality systems.
- Support regulatory filings from a financial and governance perspective.
6. M&A, Partnerships & Commercial Structuring
- Evaluate strategic partnerships, licensing, and M&A opportunities.
- Lead financial due diligence, deal structuring, and integration planning.
- Support commercial contracts, pricing models, and revenue recognition.
7. Risk Management & Governance
- Identify and mitigate financial, compliance, and operational risks.
- Establish enterprise risk management frameworks.
- Ensure strong Board governance and reporting discipline.
8. Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Build and lead a high-performing finance, accounting, and compliance team.
- Define roles, processes, and performance metrics.
- Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and financial rigor.
Must Have
- 15+ years of experience in finance leadership roles.
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or equivalent qualification.
- Strong experience in MedTech, diagnostics, manufacturing, or regulated healthcare sectors.
- Proven track record in fundraising, audits, and financial governance.
Preferred
- Experience working with VC-backed or high-growth companies.
- Exposure to global markets, exports, or cross-border operations.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial automation.
- Familiarity with FDA / CE regulatory environments (financial support role).
