Role Overview

The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is responsible for shaping and executing Virgil HealthCare Platforms’ people strategy, organizational design, leadership development, and culture, aligned with the company’s mission to deliver high-quality diagnostic solutions.

This role requires a senior HR leader with experience in MedTech, diagnostics, manufacturing, or regulated healthcare environments, capable of building scalable HR systems, strong leadership pipelines, and a performance-driven, compliance-ready culture.

The CHRO will report to the Founder-CEO, and works closely with Board, and senior leadership team to ensure the organization is prepared for rapid growth, audits, and global expansion.

Key Responsibilities

1.⁠⁠ People & Talent Strategy

  • Define and execute a long-term people strategy aligned with business and growth objectives.
  • Build workforce plans supporting R&D, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, sales, and service operations.
  • Ensure the right talent mix for current and future scale.

2.⁠⁠Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding

  • Lead end-to-end talent acquisition for leadership, technical, and operational roles.
  • Build a strong employer brand within the MedTech and diagnostics ecosystem.
  • Design hiring frameworks that emphasize quality, compliance mindset, and cultural fit.

3.⁠⁠ Organization Design & Leadership Development

  • Design scalable org structures, roles, and reporting frameworks.
  • Build leadership development and succession planning programs.
  • Coach founders and senior leaders on people leadership and organizational effectiveness.

4.⁠⁠ Performance Management & Rewards

  • Establish a performance management system aligned with business and Board KPIs.
  • Design competitive and sustainable compensation, incentive, and ESOP frameworks.
  • Align rewards with performance, accountability, and long-term value creation.

5.⁠⁠ HR Operations, Policies & Compliance

  • Build and maintain HR policies, SOPs, and employee handbooks.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws, statutory requirements, and audits.
  • Support quality and regulatory requirements from a people and training perspective.

6.⁠⁠ Learning, Training & Capability Building

  • Design training programs supporting quality systems, compliance, leadership, and technical skills.
  • Ensure training effectiveness, documentation, and audit readiness.
  • Promote continuous learning and capability development.

7.⁠⁠ Culture, Engagement & Ethics

  • Build a strong, values-driven culture focused on quality, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Drive employee engagement, communication, and retention initiatives.
  • Uphold ethical standards, grievance redressal, and employee well-being.

8.⁠⁠ Change Management & Scale Readiness

  • Lead people-side change during rapid growth, restructuring, or expansion.
  • Prepare the organization for VC scale-up, global customers, and audits.
  • Act as a strategic advisor during leadership transitions.
Qualifications & Experience

Must Have

  • 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience.
  • Experience in MedTech, diagnostics, manufacturing, or regulated healthcare environments.
  • Proven ability to scale organizations and build leadership teams.
  • Strong understanding of Indian labor laws and HR compliance.

Preferred

  • Experience in VC-backed or high-growth companies.
  • Exposure to global HR practices and cross-border teams.
  • Background in quality-driven or regulated industries.
  • Certifications in HR leadership or organization development.
